Benefits of Skin Aesthetic Treatments
Aesthetic treatments benefit the skin inside and out, leaving the skin to feel fresh, healthy and glowing. Most of these treatments offer quick and effective result for wrinkles, fine lines, brown or age spots, acne scars and other skin concerns. Most aesthetic treatments are pain-free, need little to no down-time, and provide natural results.
The Many Ways to Rejuvenate your Skin
Chemexfoliation (derma-peeling treatments) is a cosmetic treatment which rejuvenates the skin by causing a slight trauma which then forces the skin to heal itself. This repair process restores the skin which will tackle skin concerns and problematic skin such as pigmentation, sunspots, fine lines and wrinkles and acne. These peels come with various strengths and contain different ingredients including alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), phenol, and trichloroacetic acid (TCA). The dermatologist will pick the correct peel to suite each patient and their concerns.
Radiofrequency facial treatments
Radio frequency (RF) stimulates skin tightening, collagen stimulation and breaking down fatty tissue on the face. This is a non-surgical means of “reshaping” the face from beneath the superficial layer of the skin. This method uses sophisticated devices specifically designed to treat men and women’s most common skin aging problems like wrinkles, excess fatty tissues, or cellulite.
The heating action used supplies energy to the deepest layers of the skin resulting in a youthful, radiant appearance. This treatment is perfect for someone who’s dealing with loose and sagging skin.
Micro needling facial treatment
The Derma-pen creates “micro-injuries”, which in turn cause to the skin to repair itself. The formation of new collagen and elastin results in plumper and smoother skin. It also works very affectively on textured skin, enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles and scaring, whether surgical or acne related, and even stretch marks. There are different needle depths which tackle different concerns starting from 05.mm – 3mm, the dermatologist will decide the depth regarding the patients concerns.
PRP (platelet rich plasma)
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a great, natural treatment for improving skin texture and elasticity. PRP improves skin tone and texture, tighten skin, soften lines and pores, helps with dark circles under the eyes and also improves acne scaring. It uses your own plasma as a seed to stimulate further production of collagen and naturally improve the look of your skin. Areas of skin that are treated with PRP feel firmer, appear tauter and regain that youthful glow. It has also been useful in the treatment of hair loss.
Results begin to show 3-4 weeks after the treatment session and continue to improve with time. Three treatment sessions are generally recommended, spaced 1-2 months apart, to achieve the desired outcome. Different treatment plans will be set to achieve different outcomes.
The PRP treatment is a simple, safe procedure where blood is taken (just like a blood test), and then spun in a centrifuge machine. This allows the blood to separate and the platelet-rich plasma to be extracted. Platelets help to repair and rejuvenate by delivering growth factor proteins to areas where they are needed. This platelet-rich plasma is then re-injected into the areas to be treated.
Mesotherapy is a technique that uses injections of vitamins, enzymes, and plant extracts to rejuvenate and tighten skin, as well as remove excess fat.
The technique uses very fine needles to deliver a series of injections into the middle layer of the skin. The idea behind mesotherapy is that it corrects underlying issues like poor circulation and inflammation that cause skin damage.
Mesotherapy helps remove fat/ cellulite in areas like the stomach, thighs, buttocks, hips, legs, arms, and face, help fade wrinkles and fine lines, tighten loose skin, lighten pigmented skin, helps treat alopecia, over all skin rejuvenation, treats acne /acne scaring and dehydrated skin.
Slimming and Body Contour
The non-invasive body slimming treatments helps break down fat and cellulite without major surgery. We utilize advanced technology with cellulite management system that combines the advanced body contouring technologies to successfully target all cellulite-related problems.
Our body contouring and slimming treatments target six major problems associated with cellulite: leg swelling, orange peel skin, dimpling, rippling, skin contour irregularities, and localized fat deposit. The treatments combine ultrasound, mesotherapy and radio frequency technology to help push fat out of the body. Using a process called pneumatic massage, the skin is suctioned, lifted and massaged between two rollers while the patient lies on a bed. Our specialists may choose more than one treatment to target the excess fat deposits.
Blackheads form when a clog or plug develops in the opening of hair follicles in your skin. Each follicle contains one hair and a sebaceous gland that produces oil. This oil, called sebum, helps keep your skin soft. Dead skin cells and oils collect in the opening to the skin follicle, producing a dark colored head (blackhead).
Blackheads are a mild type of acne that usually form on the face, but they can also appear on the following body parts:
Some factors can increase your chances of developing acne and blackheads, including:
producing too much body oil
the buildup of the Propionibacterium acnes bacteria on the skin
irritation of the hair follicles when dead skins cells don’t shed on a regular basis
undergoing hormonal changes that cause an increase in oil production during the teen years/ pubity, during menstruation, or while taking birth control pills
the blocking or covering pores by cosmetics and clothing
shaving and other activities that open the hair follicles
high humidity and grease in the immediate environment
some health conditions, such as stress, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
medications that encourage rapid skin cell turnover
use of some steroid-based drugs, such as corticosteroids
Some people believe that what you eat or drink can affect acne. Dairy products and foods that increase blood sugar levels , such as , carbohydrates may play a part in triggering acne, but researchers aren’t convinced that there’s a strong connection.
It is important to remove the blackheads or the bacteria will keep spreading causing more clogged pours. This will lead to deeper and more aggressive acne, which will cause irritation and potentially scarring to the skin.
Skin tags are small, soft, skin-coloured growths that hang off the skin and look a bit like warts.
They’re very common, harmless, and can vary in colour and size – from a few millimetres up to 5cm (about 2 inches) wide.
Skin tags are usually found on the neck, armpits, around the groin, or under the breasts. They can also grow on the eyelids or under the folds of the buttocks.
Why skin tags occur
Skin tags are made of loose collagen fibres and blood vessels surrounded by skin. Collagen is a type of protein found throughout the body.
Skin tags tend to grow in the skin folds, where the skin rubs against itself, such as on the neck, armpits or groin. This is why they tend to affect overweight people who have excess folds of skin and skin chafing.
Skin tags/ moles are harmless and don’t usually cause pain or discomfort. However, you may consider having skin tags/ moles removed if they’re affecting your self-esteem, or if they snag on clothing or jewellery and bleed.
Skin tag or wart?
Compared with warts, skin tags are:
smooth and soft (warts tend to be rougher with an irregular surface)
knobbly and hang off the skin (warts are usually slightly raised or flat)
not contagious (warts spread very easily, so a sudden outbreak or cluster of growths is more likely to be warts)
Moles can be irritated by your clothes rubbing on them, getting caught/cut which leads to bleeding/ infections and you have to watch them to ensure they’re not turning cancerous.
So having a hair growing out of a mole is a double annoyance, especially if it’s on your face!
Moles are an accumulation of melanin – the pigment that gives your skin its colour – clustered in one area on the skin.
Normal moles are usually evenly coloured and shaped, but can be brown, tan or black, raised or flat, round or oval-shaped, with a smooth surface. A small proportion of moles can turn into cancer, so it’s important to check your moles for changes in shape, colour or texture, with the development of an uneven shape or darker colour being two of the warning signs.
It’s important to get a new or existing mole checked out if it:
- changes shape or looks uneven
- changes colour, gets darker or has more than 2 colours
- starts itching, crusting, flaking or bleeding
- gets larger or more raised from the skin
Most moles are harmless and do not need to be removed. But if your dermatologist thinks your mole looks suspicious, or if you would like to have the mole removed for cosmetic reasons, it can usually be done quite easily.
